I nearly started crying when I decoded the secret message and it said “For you.” I will point to the pictures and tell my kids her name. And they’ll be so annoyed with my story of how I got three feet from her. Haha!

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 37/38 - Speak Now - Last Kiss
I really don’t want to say anything about this song because Taylor has already summed it up perfectly and basically what I would say. I always lose it when she gets to the bridge.
“The song Last Kiss is sort of like a letter to somebody uh - that you say all these desperate, hopeless feelings that you have after a breakup. You know going through a breakup, you feel all these different things, you know you feel anger and you feel confusion and frustration but then there’s the absolute sadness. The sadness of losing this person and losing all of the memories and all the hopes you had for the future. And there are just times when you have this moment of truth where you just admit to yourself that you just miss all of these things.”

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 36/38 - Speak Now - Haunted
“Still to this day.”
Listened to the acoustic version of this song the first week after Kevin and I broke up. Almost every lyric was dead on. And yes, still to this day.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 35/38 - Speak Now - Innocent
“Who you are is not what you did.”
I remember the first time I heard this song. It was on the VMAs, and I remember sitting there and I was just speechless. I couldn’t believe how amazing the song was. Right then and there, I knew, I knew that song would become a song very special to me when I got older. I didn’t know when, but I knew it would help me one day. Few months later in November, it did. And last June, it did. It helped me forgive. It helped with forgiving myself. This beautiful song will always hold a dear place in my heart because of so many reasons.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 34/38 - Speak Now - Better Than Revenge
I love singing this song when I’m mad. I just put whatever I’m angry about into singing this song and it actually really calms me down.
Anyway, so, months and months ago, somebody told me that Kevin probably left me for another girl, just based on what I told them. I, of course, got upset. And then I started thinking about this girl and I just got mad to the point where Better Than Revenge was playing on repeat.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 33/38 - Speak Now - Enchanted
This song is incredibly beautiful and will always hold a very special place in my heart. I even remember the first time I heard the little preview of this song that Barnes & Noble had posted like, 3 days before Speak Now came out. I’ll never forget the first time I heard the entire song. I was absolutely blown away, and I went and texted Kevin “I was enchanted to meet you.”
This song will always and forever make me think of Kevin. This song belongs to him and always will, no matter who I meet.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 32/38 - Speak Now - Never Grow Up
It took forever to do this graphic, but I loved doing it.
I cried the first time I heard this song. I just sobbed, because every bit of it was true. I remember when Taylor sang “and turn my nightlight on” I started to sob harder, because I still sleep with a nightlight and knowing this beautiful woman still did too, made me feel so much better about having one.
So, now, I know when I go to college I will just sit there and listen to this song and sob, because its completely right and I’m being forced to grow up and I don’t want to.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 31/38 - Speak Now - The Story of Us
“This is looking like a contest, of who can act like they care less. But I liked it better when you were on my side.”
HOW CAN YOU NOT DANCE TO THIS SONG?!
Okay. That just needed to be said.
If I EVER run into Kevin, I will literally be singing this song in my head. Gosh, I love this song. I love its upbeatness and the lyrics.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 30/38 - Speak Now - Mean
I still don’t understand how she was off-key at the Grammy’s.
Wow. I remember I thought she had written this song for me. I was so excited about the country in this song. I sing this all the time when people put me down or when people insult or hate on Taylor.

38 Taylor Swift Songs Challenge - 29/38 - Speak Now - Dear John
So I did this part in the song, because my favorite part (shining like fireworks over your sad empty town) gets so much love. I also really love the part “Don’t you think 19’s too young?” part.
On the really bad, horrible days, the thought that Kevin used me really gets to me. Just, the lyrics in this song are Taylor’s best and there’s quite a few lyrics in there I can relate to so much.
I adore the live effects with this song.
